Are there any toilets on-site or nearby?

Toilets are available at the car park at the top of the cliff. There are no facilities at beach level.

Is there space to sit and eat a packed lunch picnic?

There's plenty of space for picnics on the beach, however no bins. All rubbish to be returned to the cliff top.

Are there any first aid facilities?

Basic first aid is available at the Lulworth Cove Heritage Centre nearby. However, school groups must bring their own qualified first aider and a fully stocked mobile medical kit, as the beach area is a significant distance from immediate permanent facilities.

Are there any special or unusual requirements I need to know about before visiting?

Access is via a 15-20 minute walk down steep shingle banks followed by 143 steps down to the beach. Trainers or walking boots are essential. Loose-fitting shoes are not. Keep away from caves (rockfalls) and the shoreline (due to occasional sudden large riptide currents).

Are there any special requests or processes for group leaders on arrival?

The site is a protected World Heritage area; it is strictly forbidden to climb on the arch itself or to remove any stones or fossils from the beach. Youngsters must also be warned to stay clear of the cliff bases due to the constant risk of unpredictable rockfalls.
